Linda qualified in 1984 from the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
After rotating around the main specialities in several hospitals she began to specialise in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, which is where she met Clare.
Upon her return to work after her third child, Linda started work in the community where she treated patients with a wide range of conditions, from the elderly with fall problems or requiring ongoing treatment for joint replacements through to those suffering from neurological disorders. After 17 years of working in patients' homes, Linda felt there was a need to gain experience in working with patients recovering from heart attacks ( with or without surgery) so she moved to her current role within the Gloucestershire Cardiac Rehabilitation team where she educates her patients in safe, progressive exercise and in making lifestyle changes. In addition to her Cardiac Rehab work, Linda works at the Winfield Hospital in Gloucester where she rehabilitates patients after hip, knee and back surgery.
Linda visits people in their own homes who may need extra rehabilitation following a stay in hospital or who are having difficulty with their mobility and / or balance. She can also advise on paced, progressive exercise for those patients with coronary artery disease and can treat those suffering with stiff and aching joints who are unable to get to a physiotherapy clinic. Linda is experienced in assessing homes for extra equipment which would make life easier and also reduce the risk of falls.
In her free time, Linda enjoys playin tennis, gardening, ski-ing and going to the gym.
